Working closely with the school’s building committee, The Design Group planned and designed a new campus for APS’ Desert Willow Family School. Based on the school’s philosophy of inspiring a “community of learners”, a state of the art campus design included classroom and administrative buildings, as well as a multi-purpose building that incorporated the performing arts and integrated learning facilities.

Unlike traditional school facilities, the Desert Willow Family School is a true community-based learning environment. An abbreviated school day and the emphasis on student leadership necessitated the need for this flexible communal space. This school is the first LEED® Certified APS facility that also, by program, included numerous demonstrative, sustainable and responsible design features.
