Gathering consensus from numerous state government agencies, The Design Group prepared a campus master plan that included historic building evaluations. The Bataan Memorial Building, originally constructed in 1900 as the territorial capitol building, has undergone numerous additions and remodels that have compromised the original Beaux Arts style architecture.

The Design Group developed a phased improvement plan that included restoration of the original tower and replacement of historic colonnades, windows, and entries. Work also included upgrades to important life/safety systems within each building. Today, as the buildings enter their second century of use, a new organizational vision will allow state employees to work comfortably and safely while enjoying a connection to the past.
